The Medina Sunrise Rotary joined forces with The Medina County District Library and Creative Kids Headstart on October 19th with a literacy program.

The library picked two age appropriate books, "Goodnight Moon" and "Brown Bear Brown Bear" for the 2-3 year olds and 4-5 year olds. The club paid for the books. This outreach program fit in perfectly with the club’s mission of helping children. This targeted group rarely has exposure to literacy, so the activity was a great way to excite these children about the benefits and joys of reading. The library and the Head Start representatives were thrilled and grateful for Rotary members to take time out of their busy schedules. The children enjoyed the session and were thrilled to take home copies of their new book. They also delighted in the Oreo cookies generously supplied by Mike Carlson who also splendidly read to them. Other participants included Sabrina Cochran, Don Nelson, Rich Horning, Joe Gaebelein, Mike Davanzo, David Lariviere, Jeffrery D’Annolfo, Emily Wesmann, and Thomas Sigel.
