"The Ohio National Guard is a proud member of communities throughout Ohio in which our Citizen Soldiers and Airmen serve," stated SFC Steve Callahan, the incoming Recruiting Commander of the Medina Armory Ohio Army National Guard. "Along with Staff Sergeant Brian Bruening and myself, we are excited about the warm welcome we have received in Medina and are looking forward getting to know you and building strong community partnerships with students and their families, teachers and their schools, and employees and their employers."

Did you knows that the first colony-wide militia was formed by Massachusetts in 1636 by merging small older local units, and several National Guard units can be traced back to this colonial militia?  Today, the National Guard is more than just a job. As a Guard Soldier you'll respond when disaster strikes at home. You'll also answer the call when your country needs you around the world. This is our unique dual mission–serving both community and country. You can take a path with purpose. Be part of something bigger than yourself. We can give you life skills and experiences you'll never forget.

The Soldiers and Airmen of the Ohio National Guard stand ready to answer the call whenever a disaster strikes, such as hurricanes Harvey in Texas, Irma in Florida, and Maria in Puerto Rico, and we are pledged to support our national, state and community missions. Always ready. Always there.
