We are thrilled to share that Medina Sunrise Rotary is making a significant impact on the future of healthcare for our community’s children with a $100,000 grant to Akron Children’s Hospital for their new Medina Health Center. This state-of-the-art facility, set to open in March 2025, will consolidate three of Akron Children’s offices into one, offering expanded services to better serve the 15,700+ Medina County children already benefiting from their care.
This grant, the first major contribution to the Akron Children's project, is a testament to our Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self.” We believe in Akron Children’s mission and are honored to play a role in bringing world-class care closer to home for Medina families. Together, we are building a future filled with promise and possibility for every child in our community.
“We are so grateful for the support of Medina Sunrise Rotary,” said Shelly Brown, chief development officer and executive director of the Akron Children’s Foundation. “This partnership is about more than a building; it’s about creating hope and health for our children.”
A Legacy of Giving:
Since 1994, Medina Sunrise Rotary has raised over $1.5 million for organizations focused on children, and in 2024 alone, we will donate $138,200 to support students, charities, and organizations in Medina County.
