Medina Sunrise Rotary volunteers were on hand early Saturday morning to staff Water Station #3 for the 2019 Summa Health Medina Half Marathon Run/Walk, Relay & 5K Race. This race is being held by the Medina County Road Runners and the title sponsor is Summa Health. All funds are given back to local charities. 

Named the 40th most desirable city to live in by CNN Money in 2009, Medina also plays host to the Medina Half Marathon & 5K, which takes place in late May each year. Beginning in Medina's Historic Courthouse Square, the half marathon takes runners north of downtown Medina through beautiful tree-lined neighborhoods for the first three miles. Mile 3 marks the right turn onto East Reagan Parkway, where runners are greeted by Medina Sunrise Rotarians' Waterstation. Then runners turn onto Reagan and Huffman Parks toward Lake Medina. This section of the course is run along the lake with gorgeous water views. After leaving the lake and heading back on the road again toward the halfway point, the second half of the course begins. This half of the course is almost all uphill and weaves its way through residential neighborhoods before crossing the finish line back at Medina Square.
