“This day showed us the worst of what could happen to us but also the best of what could rise from within us. We saw firefighters, police officers and other first responders run into those burning buildings,” said featured speaker John Boccieri. “We saw ordinary people on Flight 93 rise up and fight back. We saw great Americans enlist in our armed forces and place themselves in harm’s way to make our country safer. You can say a spirit moved us. It motivated us and it gave us meaning.”
